So many reasons to be thankful!

First, I have to say I am so blessed to be able to work at a place where God's spirit is so present!
This morning, the day was started off with staff devotions (ha - just like good ole' BGA), as we do on Mondays... it was on the likely topic of thankfullness, since this is the week of Thanksgiving.
It was so great to start off the week meditating on all that I have to be thankful for! Often we can get caught up in the food or the fact that we have a few vacation days, when the real purpose is to pause and be grateful for all of our blessings!!
It's amazing how many things there are to be thankful for when you actually sit down and write them out!! Even aside from just the basic provisions and family, etc. What about just God's nature?? I am so thankful that He is a God of mercy and grace! Oh, how I need it! I am thankful that He us faithful and just...
Often we thank God for everything that we have - for the things we like and the things we think we could not live without. What if you didn't have those things? What if you didn't have the comfort of your plush bed? Would you still be thankful?
Job praised God beyond his circumstances, and I think he is a wonderful example of trusting God through hard times... so take a step beyond being thankful for your circumstances... let's just be thankful that we have a God who loves us - who hand crafted each of us - and who has a purpose for each of our lives. Praise Him, for He is worthy to be praised!!

Colossians 3:15-16
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.
