Indiana Christmas

Christmas in Indiana was a blast!

Cookie is Jon's childhood dog, and poor girl may not be around too much longer... she's sweet though, and will eat anything in the world!! (Will add a video to show)
My mother-in-law is so sweet... she always gets us fun presents for Christmas morning, and I almost feel like a kid again... my favorite gift this Christmas was not one that I got, but one that she received... a steel drum... oh how fun! What a unique gift!! It was fun hearing those Jamaican sounds again... reminded me of my honeymoon!

Oh, brothers! David, William, and Jon ~ all grown up... well most of the time anyway! :)

Me and Jon on Christmas morning in Indiana... we had so much fun visiting with the Coonce side - is such a precious time that we have to savor, since we only get there every couple of months.

Christmas Fun!

Shout out to Becky for the awesome sweater!! (She used to wear that UT sweater w/ pride... and the one that Rich has on too!)

Tacky Christmas parties are the best! Here are just a few pictures from our little Christmas shin-dig... Dana officially took home best costume for the ladies... and it was close for the guys... Rich and Braton were both pretty classic!! Love my friends!! :)

My debut on TV :)

I had a very exciting opportunity today that I wanted to share. Better Nashville (Channel 4) invited Mercy Ministries to be on the show, so I was very fortunate to get to share just a little part of my testimony today! Holly Thompson is such a nice lady, and it was exciting to be able to share, in hopes that someone might find the help they need. So, here is the link! It's about a 5 minute blurb, and also gave us a chance to plug the Merry Mercy Benefit that takes place tomorrow night.

So many reasons to be thankful!

First, I have to say I am so blessed to be able to work at a place where God's spirit is so present!
This morning, the day was started off with staff devotions (ha - just like good ole' BGA), as we do on Mondays... it was on the likely topic of thankfullness, since this is the week of Thanksgiving.
It was so great to start off the week meditating on all that I have to be thankful for! Often we can get caught up in the food or the fact that we have a few vacation days, when the real purpose is to pause and be grateful for all of our blessings!!
It's amazing how many things there are to be thankful for when you actually sit down and write them out!! Even aside from just the basic provisions and family, etc. What about just God's nature?? I am so thankful that He is a God of mercy and grace! Oh, how I need it! I am thankful that He us faithful and just...
Often we thank God for everything that we have - for the things we like and the things we think we could not live without. What if you didn't have those things? What if you didn't have the comfort of your plush bed? Would you still be thankful?
Job praised God beyond his circumstances, and I think he is a wonderful example of trusting God through hard times... so take a step beyond being thankful for your circumstances... let's just be thankful that we have a God who loves us - who hand crafted each of us - and who has a purpose for each of our lives. Praise Him, for He is worthy to be praised!!

Colossians 3:15-16
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.

Life has been oh so busy, but God is so so good!
I just wanted to place a short post since I am so behind in doing anything on this blog...

Recently, my little brother moved out - yes, he got his own place! And of course, he had to break in the new pad... so here is a picture of some of the fam at Willie's party house! :) We love your new place Willie!!

Also, recently, Jon's brother David got engaged!! Way to go David! We are so excited for him and Jara! Jara is such a sweet sweet girl, and I'm excited to have such a fun sis-in-law!! Their big day is going to be June 12, 2010~ can't wait!

Other than that, we don't have any major news... we are just trying to sell our sweet little condo right now, so please keep us in your prayers! God is good! He is able to do abundantly more than we can ever ask or imagine! Praise Him! :)

Happy 2nd Birthday Abby!

Shout out to my little niece Abby! I hope she had a great 2nd birthday!!! I'm sure all she needed was a little pig and some chocolate to make it great! Love you Abby!! Love your Aunt Kiki and Uncle Jon

This is for you Amanda!!

So... I know I have been the worst blogger ever! This is my 2nd blog... I actually completely forgot that I had one until I looked at my sister-in-law's the other day and saw my blog... ha ha!

So, married life is good! Jon and I have gotten settled, but we are wishing we could buy a house now!
Jon's parents are in town for the weekend, and we are enjoying a nice long weekend just hanging out!
Since I'm still figuring this whole thing out, I don't even know how to add pictures to the posts yet.... and what's worse is that we actually don't even have a camera right now... I know it's like a sin practically... I honeslty don't know how I've lived without one for the last 6 months...
Anyway, this was for Amanda, since she totally called me out the other night... I will try to get better soon!

My first blog

So, this is my first blog... I'm really not the blogging type... but I guess I could get into this. I am really just signing up because I want to be able to comment on my friends and families blogs... so this blog won't be seeing too much action probably... oh well.

... I'm sure I'll think of some things to write about here and there.

For now, check out my Aunt Nancy's blog... it's really great. She is typically a great story teller, and it just so happens that recently she posted a story about me. :)
